I'm a marketing and communications professional with 10+ years of in-house, agency and freelance experience. I've worked in a range of industry sectors - legal, pharmaceutical, technical, automotive, housing, and the arts. I love my job because I get to experiment with both the art and science of marketing. Sometimes my work requires me to be creative, imaginative, and make something beautiful - and other times I need to be analytical, logical, and crunch the numbers. I'm results driven and love being able to demonstrate that my work has made an impact.
Recent freelance projects: I've completed a variety of marketing, copywriting, copy editing and design projects on a freelance basis, including:
August 2016 - present: Head of membership, Chartered Institute of Housing. This is a senior management position with responsibility for the membership recruitment, retention and engagement strategies of the professional body for the housing sector. Leading a department made up of 12 members of staff, my role includes a spectrum of activity from budget management and strategic planning to product development and launch, managing relationships with partners, engaging with members through regional and special interest networks, and running webinars, workshops and conference sessions on topics such as career development and how organisations can benefit from membership of a professional body.
October 2010 - August 2016: Senior marketing and campaigns manager, Chartered Institute of Housing. I started at CIH as a marketing and campaigns officer in October 2010, and have progressed with the growth of the marketing and communications team. In the last year I have successfully recruited three members of staff to my team, and have responsibility for end-to-end management of strategic marketing activity across both the commercial and charitable arms of the organisation.
